Privacy Policy

HowMuchAh? is an independent, free reference site for Singapore HDB resale prices. This policy explains what happens to data when you use it. We keep it short because we collect very little.

What we do not collect

• No accounts, no sign-ups, no passwords.
• No storage of the postal codes you search for. Searches are processed and discarded; nothing is written to a profile about you.
• No contact lists, no address book access, no location permission.
• No selling or renting of personal data to anyone, ever.

What is processed

Server logs

Our web server records standard request data: IP address, timestamp, requested URL, HTTP status, referrer where supplied, and user-agent. These logs exist to keep the service running and to detect abuse. They are rotated and deleted within 30 days.

Search throttling

To stop automated abuse we keep a short-lived counter of recent searches per IP address. It stores only a salted hash of the address plus timestamps, expires after about one minute, and is never combined with the postal code you searched.

Postal code lookups

HDB publishes block and street but not postal codes, so when a postal code is not in our local mapping we send that six-digit code to the OneMap search service operated by the Singapore Land Authority to resolve it. Only the postal code is sent. We do not send your IP address, and we do not call any other third party at request time.

Cookies and advertising

By default this site sets no cookies. If advertising or analytics are enabled, they are loaded only after you press Accept in the consent bar. Declining leaves the site fully usable with no advertising or analytics cookies.

When enabled, Google AdSense and Google Analytics may set cookies or read device identifiers to measure traffic and serve advertising. Google's handling of that data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. Users in the EEA, UK and Switzerland are shown a consent prompt before any such script loads, in line with Google's EU user consent policy.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, and opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. Opting out does not remove advertising; it makes the ads non-personalised.

You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser; the consent bar will return on your next visit.

Legal basis and your rights

Under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act, we rely on legitimate interests for security logging and on consent for any advertising or analytics cookies. Because we do not maintain user profiles, we usually hold no personal data that can be retrieved about a specific visitor. If you believe we do, write to us and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

This site is a property-data reference and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date above changes and the new version applies from that date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
